Agentic Strategy

The practice of using a highly-contextualized AI as your co-strategist to make better decisions, more often, under more complexity. Shorthand for what it actually means to live out the principle that strategy is the new execution.


The Core Claim

If you are a business leader, operator, consultant, or creative with meaningful responsibilities, and you are not using AI to challenge your thinking, pressure-test your plans, and surface your blind spots, you are missing the most important leverage point of the decade.

This is agentic strategy.

It is not "hey AI, what should I do?" It is not delegating authority. It is building out your agentic model to the point where it has enough context on your life and work that it can meaningfully co-strategize with you. Geoff Woods, author of The AI-Driven Leader and founder of AI Leadership, evangelizes a version of this constantly: the leaders who figure out how to use AI as a strategic thinking partner will run circles around the leaders who use it only to produce outputs.

The quality of your life is downstream of the quality of your decisions. Your decisions are downstream of the quality of your strategic thinking. Agentic strategy says: AI, given enough context on you, can be a far better strategist than almost any human in your life. Most people in your life have very little context on you. Your Jarvis, done right, has all of it.

What It Is Not

  • Not delegating authority. Your AI does not decide for you. It thinks with you.
  • Not naive prompting. "What should I do?" to a context-less chatbot is not agentic strategy. It is the opposite.
  • Not replacing your judgment. Your judgment, your taste, your values, your creative instincts, your faith-led guidance: these stay yours. Agentic strategy is how you make them sharper.

What It Is

Agentic strategy is the daily practice of:

  1. Building a rich operational reality layer that your AI can read: relationship files, meeting notes, strategic docs, current challenges, open decisions.
  2. Bringing your AI in early on any non-trivial decision. Pressure-test the plan. Identify second-order effects. Surface assumptions. Steelman the opposing case. Interrogate your own certainty.
  3. Using the AI as the thinking partner you could not otherwise afford: a senior advisor with the patience of a saint, the context of a chief of staff, and the availability of a keyboard.
  4. Keeping the context current so the AI is actually thinking about your life today, not your life six months ago. (See agentic OS debt.)

Why Most People Are Not Doing This

Two reasons:

  1. They do not have a Personal Agentic OS. Without a context lake, the AI is advising in a vacuum.
  2. They are stuck at the chat-window level. ChatGPT in a browser tab can produce answers. It cannot produce strategy informed by your actual operational reality. This is why the chat is not the product.

Agentic strategy is the thing that happens on the other side of both of those unlocks.

The Practice

Gary's own case study documents what this looks like day to day: the brain-dump-to-strategic-artifact loop, relationship dossiers, ambient meeting ingestion, stack-ranked life pillars. The surface area is wide. The principle is one sentence.

Your AI should be your best strategist, because you gave it everything it needs to be one.

If you build for this, you graduate from using AI as an output engine to using it as a thinking partner. The leverage curve is not linear. It is the order-of-magnitude gap between chat-window usage and a real hyperagent.

How to Start

  • Set up your context lake if you have not already. The Supersuit Up workshop walks you through it.
  • Practice the brain-dump-to-strategic-doc loop. Voice-to-text for 10 to 20 minutes. Let your AI interview you to poke holes. Let it draft the artifact. Edit the last 20% yourself.
  • Feed it everything: meeting transcripts, relationship context, strategic docs, your values and principles. The more context you give, the better the strategy you get back.
